Final Projects for Multimedia
Movie Project Requirements
- Minimum 2 minutes in length
- Screenshots of all web pages you produced during the course. To create a screenshot of a window, type ⇧--3. To create a screenshot of a selected area, type ⇧--4, then click and drag across the area you want to photograph.
The files will appear on your desktop as Picture 1, Picture 2, etc. Drag them to the Pictures folder on your computer. Open iPhoto and import them into iPhoto. This is the only way to import them into iMovie.
- Export all Flash animations you produced (pp. 179-181 in the Flash book), changing their output format to QuickTime Movies and saving them to the Movies folder on your computer.
- Import and assemble all movies and pictures in the iMovie timeline. Place transitions between all clips.
- Each Flash movie or web page image must be accompanied by a brief title explaining what you learned from that project.
- Include a soundtrack. At a minimum, you will use a music file stored in iTunes. An extra credit grade will be given for voice-over narration, which can be recorded in iMovie, Garage Band, or Audacity.
- When finished, export the project as a CD-ROM quality movie.
Web Site Requirements
- Original design must be produced as a Dreamweaver template (pp. 109-114 in the Dreamweaver book).
- Must contain an original “Company” logo image created in Photoshop or Flash. Two photographs representing the company's products or services must be included on the home page.
- Must present the company in such a way as to make it a desirable product or service.
- Must include a navigation bar with links to seven other pages on the same site. Four of those links must go to other active files containing different content. Links must include hover effects and different visited links colors created in the Modify>Page Properties>Links dialog box.
- Must list the purposes of the web site on the home page
- Pages must be organized using a minimum of three AP (absolutely positioned) Div Elements or Divs styled to float next to each other
- Must use external CSS styles to position AP Elements and set fonts for text and headings.
Original Flash Animation Requirements
- Must contain text and both a bitmap and vector illustration
- Must alter the content of the movie using a shape or motion tween and either a timeline effect or scripted effect (see Mr. Collette about the latter)
- Must be replayable, that is, include an actionable Replay button at the ending (this will be counted separately from the required scripted effect).
- Must set File>Publish Settings to export both flash movie (.swf) and html, and set animation to not loop in the html settings (uncheck the Loop checkbox).
- If designed for a teacher web page, must contain the teacher's name, subject taught, and room number.
- Animation must be a minimum of one hundred frames, or 8.4 seconds long at 12 fps.
