Build a Fun Collage to Learn Photoshop

...and put it up on the web, too!

Photoshop Image Mutilation Project

  • Each student must produce, as web images, two original images constructed in Photoshop. If you will be scanning any photos, before you start, open the server so all work will be saved in your folder. Save all scans and web images as JPEG format. Refer to the scanning handout for more information.
  • Each original image must consist of at least three separate images taken from different photographs, and layered together in a Photoshop (.psd) formatted file.
  • Each original images must contain the following minimum number of manipulations:
    • Two different selections from the Drawing tool section of the toolbox (for example, Brush, Clone Stamp, Pencil, Sponge, etc.)
    • One selection from the Type tools (normal type must have a Layer Style applied)
    • Three filter selections from the Filters menu.
  • Except for selection tools, all tools, effects or filter menu selections used in the completed work must be documented. This will count as 1/3 of your grade! Use the handouts to write down your final list of changes you have made. Remember, the history palette will not contain any changes after you close a file.
